Science popularization
I have been involved in science education for a very long time. I wrote several articles popularizing science for polish & some international magazines (Wiedza i Zycie, Bioskop, Charaktery, Delta, Science in Schools (Swedish version in Bioscience Explained). I was involved in DNA to Darwin project and prepared Wolly Mammoth case study.
With Jarek Bryk, I started Science Festival School (present name: Center for Innovative Bioscences Education) in 2002 in Warsaw. We were running molecular biology workshops for high school students, molecular biology courses for biology teachers, series of open lectures with invited speakers ad many more. For some time I was SFS repesentative in pan-European Volvox project. I am still a member of the board of the Bioeducation Foundation, supporting SFS/CIBE.
Teaching experience
- R course in MPI Evolutionary Biology, Plön
- Courses for biology teachers and workshops for high school pupils
- Teaching assistant in introductory course in genetics for biology students at the Warsaw University
