I am interested in evolution, behavior and evolutionary dynamics. My research revolves around the question of how self-interested agents can coordinate their actions in order to achieve collective goals. The tools I use are at the boundaries of Game Theory, Evolutionary Biology and Computer Science.

My PhD thesis dealt with the evolution of cooperation, you can get a PDF copy here.

My current research follows three major themes: (i) The evolution of social preferences, (ii) the origin of institutions, and (iii) the choice of the strategy space in evolutionary game theory.
